Protect Your Skin From SUN DAMAGE with the IDEAL SUNSCREEN for your skin type!

Hi everyone I’m Ayesha and today I’m going to be telling you about the best sunscreens for your skin type. So sunscreens are a non negotiable product that you really have to use everyday but when you’re buying one there’s a lot of things you need to know and look out for to get the right one for your skin type and also get the right protection from the sun for your skin. So we’re going to be going through some of these things that you need to look out for as well as a list of the best products. So to start with I want to talk about UVA and UVB rays and these are actually the rays of the sun that tend to affect our skin. UVA rays are the ones that go beneath the surface of our skin and they’re the ones that cause wrinkling and ageing over time. While UVB rays are the ones that affect the surface of your skin, they’re the ones that cause burning and they’re also the ones that can lead to skin cancer over time as well. So you want to make sure you get a sunscreen that protects you from both UVA and UVB rays. The next thing I want to touch on is SPF or sun protection factor. This is the amount of protection that the
sunscreen gives you from the UVB rays of the sun. So dermats actually suggest that you use an SPF of at least 30 and thats going to give you protection from 97% of the sun’s rays which is a really great number. If you increase the SPF after that its only going to give you a little bit more protection but theres no sunscreen that can give you a 100% protection. So as long as you use at least SPF 30, you should be good to go and definitely be protecting your skin as much as you need to. The next thing I want to touch on is, application. So you want to make sure you’re applying your sunscreen at least 20 minutes before you leave the house or you go outdoors. And also make sure that you’re applying it and reapplying it every 2 hours, especially if you’re outdoors and out in the sun. Another thing you want to remember is to hit all of those sneaky areas that tend to burn without you realising like the tops of your ears, the tops of your cheeks and your nose as well. So once you keep these in mind it becomes a little bit easier to find the right sunscreen. So now we’re going to get into the products that are actually the best for each of your skin types. So we’re going to start with a sunscreen for dry skin and this one has a 40 SPF and protects you from UVA and UVB rays and it’s Biotique’s Carrot Soothing Face Lotion sunscreen. It has a really nice hydrating lotion formula thats obviously going to be hydrating for your dry skin. It acts a little like a moisturiser but its also going to give you that sun protection that you need. It’s preservative free, so if you’re someone who wants to stay away from chemicals it’s a great option. And it has carrot seed extract which is also going to prevent against premature ageing that dry skin tends to be a little more prone to. So this one is a really great one to try out for dry skin. It does’nt leave that greasy texture and it’s also a really great base for your makeup. So the next one we’re going to talk about is for oily skin. This one has a 50 SPF and it has UVA and UVB protection as well. And this one is Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen. It’s amazing for oily skin because it has a really mattifying formula, so it’s going to give you the sun protection you need but also keep your skin really matte. Even on a hot sweaty day outside you’re not going to feel that sweaty sticky feeling on your face and its not going to clog your pores or cause you to break out either. So its a great option for anyone with oily skin. Next we’re going to go into the sunscreen for combination skin. And this one again has 50 SPF and UVA and UVB protection like it should. It’s Lotus’ UV Matte Sunscreen and this one has a really really unique gel consistency that I’ve actually never seen before. It feels like a gel based moisturiser and it absorbs into your skin really quickly. It’s also a little bit mattifying so its going to prevent those oily shiny areas from forming on your face. But it’s also really cooling and refreshing so its going to hydrate the slightly drier areas of your face since you do have combination skin and you need to target both of those areas. So the lotus one is great for combination skin and again its another one that forms a great makeup base as well. Finally we’re going to talk about a sunscreen for sensitive skin. This one again has 50 SPF as well as UVA and UVB protection. And it is Suncros’ Aqua Lotion. It’s actually a dermat tested and recommended sunscreen and its super super important and a great product for sensitive skin because it’s not going to break you out, its not going to clog your pores and its not going to cause any irritation or harshness which usually tends to happen when someone’s using sunscreen. So its a great option for sensitive skin and as a bonus its also sweat resistant and water resistant. So those were all of our sunscreens for every single skin type and I hope you guys enjoyed it and find one that works best for you. So until next time stay tuned and stay GLAMRS.
